Bramble Suspension Confirmed
Bramble Suspension Confirmed
Monday, 5th Mar 2001 12:50

Titus Bramble's suspension for reaching ten bookings has been confirmed. There was confusion when this was originally announced as it appeared he had reached only nine bookings, with other sources suggesting only eight cards had come his way.

The club say that a booking in a reserve game accounts for the tenth and that he will miss the games with Aston Villa and West Ham United.

With the end of the season not long away Bramble and Fabian Wilnis, the only other Town player to be suspended for racking up yellow cards this season, can get further totting up bans. Others may reach five bookings but by the time they do they will only face warnings and not suspensions.

Congratualtions to Town's U17 side who clinched their League title with three games to spare after winning 1-0 against Southampton on Saturday.

Trialist Stuart Beavon scored the all important goal which saw the youngsters home. Many of the players who have turned out for the U17s this season have another chance at a trophy when they play in the FA Youth Cup quarter-final with Nottingham Forest on March 14th at Portman Road (KO 7pm).

The U17 team has many highly-rated players who are breaking through not only into the U19 team, but also into the reserves. Everything's great at the moment isn't it?
