Peters Gets U20 Call
Peters Gets U20 Call

Winger Jaime Peters has been named in a Canada U20 squad playing back-to-back friendlies with the USA. Peters, who will sign a new three-year deal with the Blues subject to a work permit application, has previously won 23 caps at U20 level in addition to his 12 full appearances.

The young Canadians first take on their southern neighbours in Ottawa on Sunday and then again in Kingston next Wednesday. The games are part of Canada's preparations for the FIFA U20 World Cup which they are hosting later this summer.

Peters is one of six players named as ambassadors for the tournament in which they play Chile, Austria and Congo in the group stages.

Meanwhile, Tommy Miller, amongst Jim Magilton's potential summer signings having been released by Sunderland, says he is keen to move to SPL side Hearts: “Hearts have been in touch and have expressed their interest. They haven't made an offer yet but I will be interested in what they have to say.

"I would certainly be interested in a move to Hearts, but I will need to see what happens."

Elsewhere, one former Town player is still to get into end-of-season play-off action. Vemund Brekke Skard, released by the Blues in August, is fit and raring to go as his current side L'Hospitalet take on Eibar home and away in Spanish Segunda División B play-off semi-finals. The first game is on Saturday.

Norwegian midfielder Skard has been a largely peripheral figure since moving to the Catalonian club in February, partly due to injury.
