Town have admitted that the ticketing call centre they use for credit card sales failed to keep to the priority scheme when selling tickets for the West Ham game on Monday morning when all West Ham tickets were sold.

Several people claimed on the TWTD Message Board that they bought up to five tickets without being asked for the same number of Portman Plus Gold cards. Others said this had happened on occasion throughout the season.

TWTD spoke to the club's Customer Service Manager Richard Powell who looked into the situation and got back to us saying: "My investigations have shown a few anomalies for the West Ham match

although records in the main for the previous matches this season appear at first sight to be in order so I have now requested that our call centre carry out their own investigation and report back with their findings."

He thanked us for bringing the matter to his attention and hopefully this should resolve things for future games.

Many fans were left disappointed as the West Ham allocation of 2,200 sold out in just a morning. With West Ham now our nearest away game it was one that was always likely to draw in a large number of people, particuarly with the club doing so well at present.

Town's reserves drew 1-1 in a behind-closed-doors friendly with OB Odense yesterday afternoon. The game was arranged with the Danes as they wanted to play a game on grass, bad weather in their own country prevents them doing this at home currently.

The game also gave Town an opportunity to look at Lars Jacobsen, the Dane linked to Town yesterday. Jacobsen looks like he was Town's second choice as a new full-back after Chris Makin and if the Makin deal goes through then we doubt we'll hear much more about Jacobsen.

The £1 million-rated player has previously spent time at Charlton and fans of the Danish club rate him highly. Someone who posts on the Odense Message Board called Vojde said: "He is an excellent full left back and he can play in the centre too. We would be sad to lose him if the rumour is true but if Ipswich have got the money I think OB will let him go."

Of the game Town manager George Burley said: "The match was arranged through our Chief Scout Colin Suggett after OB Odense wanted to play on a grass pitch as they have so much snow at the moment, and we were happy to help out."
