Darren Bent's move to Spurs still appears to be no nearer completion with Charlton reportedly holding out for the £17 million fee previously agreed with West Ham for the former Town man's signature.

Charlton's board is reported to have met on Monday to discuss whether to accept a lower figure for Bent, but apparently decided to continue to stick to their guns.

The England striker's exit from the Valley is still inevitable but, with the transfer window open until the end of August, the Addicks appear in little hurry to cash-in on their prize asset.

Spurs were previously reported to have offered a fee which would total £16 million including £1 million in add-ons, but claims over the weekend that a deal had been agreed and that Bent would undergo a medical early this week now appear to have been premature.

Liverpool and Valencia were previously been mentioned as other interested parties, although Bent is reportedly keen on a move to Tottenham, despite supporting Arsenal as a boy.

Town are due 20% of the profit the Addicks make on the £2.6 million they paid the Blues for Bent.

Meanwhile, Franny Jeffers's permanent switch to Portman Road also seems no nearer confirmation. Blackburn are again reported to have priced the ex-Everton, Arsenal and Charlton man at £1 million.

Manager Mark Hughes said a month ago that he would be willing to allow Jeffers to leave Ewood Park at the right price, with Rovers subsequently declining two Town bids.

The Blues are understood either to have made or be preparing to make a third offer which is thought to total £1 million including add-ons, likely to be related to appearances, goals and promotion.

Elsewhere, Hull City are again reported to be interested in striker Alan Lee. Cork City frontman Roy O'Donovan, who Jim Magilton admitted was a player he had been watching in January, is their number one target, but boss Phil Brown feels that the £450,000 valuation the Irish club have put on the Republic of Ireland B international is too high.

According to reports in East Yorkshire, Brown could target Lee if a deal cannot be agreed with Cork.
