Upson Called Up

Academy midfielder Ed Upson has been added to the England squad playing in a European U19 Championship qualifying group later this month.

England take on Iceland at Doncaster on October 12th, Romania at Scunthorpe two days later and Belgium at Barnsley on October 17th.

Already in international action during that week are Billy Clarke, Shane Supple and Owen Garvan with http://www.clubfanzine.com/ipswich_town/showNews.php?id=4101>the Republic of Ireland U21s and Chris Casement with Northern Ireland's U21s.

Keeper Neil Alexander has been left out of the Scotland squad, but Alex Bruce is on standby for the Republic of Ireland's European Championship qualifiers against Germany and Cyprus despite the continuing doubt regarding his qualification for Steve Staunton's side.
