Brazil Denies Charge
Brazil Denies Charge

Former Blue Alan Brazil was in court in Bury St Edmunds yesterday denying a charge of drink-driving.

Brazil, now a presenter with TalkSport, claims the breathalyser used by police after he was stopped while driving on the A14 at Woolpit on September 16th was faulty.

The ex-Scotland international's breath test found he had 77 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, but his lawyer Gary Bromelow says there are doubts about its accuracy as it took police four attempts to achieve that reading. Judge Cooper adjourned the case until November 13th.

Meanwhile, Brazil was involved in a row between supporters of Celtic and Rangers at an airport after Saturday's Old Firm game. Police were called and Brazil, a Celtic fan, was escorted to a plane for his own protection.

Brazil is reported to have been taunted by Rangers fans and reacted by walking through a group of their supporters holding a Celtic scarf.
