Naylor Close to Return Thursday, 25th Oct 2007 11:59 Central defender Richard Naylor says he is closing in on a return to first team football. Naylor has been out of action since last season due to a toe problem which eventually required surgery in the summer. Naylor said: “If push came to shove I could play on Saturday. I am getting a few aches after matches and am taking supplements and tablets for that. It is gradually easing away. “But I am getting no adverse reaction - so I feel I am on the way back after a number of false dawns. “It is a case of playing in the reserves and catching the eye of the manager.” Town picked up no other new injuries against Colchester on Tuesday but with Tommy Miller and Gavin Williams remaining on the sidelines with their ankle injuries. Miller is likely to be back in a fortnight, while Williams could return later in November. Meanwhile, on-loan midfielder George O'Callaghan is back at Playford Road as he recovers from a hamstring problem. The former Cork City player missed loan club Brighton's game with Leeds United at the weekend.
