Oxford Boss's Praise for Rhodes

Oxford United boss Jim Smith has heaped praise on Town striker Jordan Rhodes. The 17-year-old is currently on loan at the Kassam Stadium and netted both goals as his temporary club defeated Merthyr Tydfil 2-1 in the FA Cup at the weekend.

Smith said: "The only thing Jordan hadn't done in the previous two games was score, but the first one he scored on Saturday will be one of the highlights of the FA Cup this year I think.

“He is a quality player, but I also think he is a fantastic example to the young lads because his work rate is excellent. Top players work very, very hard, and that young man has a chance of being a top player."

A wobbly movie of Jordan's first senior goals is available here.
