Town's U18s picked up a point at Charlton on Saturday morning with a 0-0 draw, but they should've come away with all three. Meanwhile, the U16s took their extraordinary run of wins to 12.

For the U18s, sub Craig Calver squandered some good chances, Paul Watson came close with a header and Ed Upson saw a great strike from 35 yards fly just wide of the post.

But it was just one of those days for Town's youngsters who controlled large parts of the game.

Ipswich U18s: Ward, Clemo, Robinson, Daniels (C Williams), Ainsley, Watson, Lambe, Reason, Rhodes, Murphy (Calver) and Upson. Unused: Traveller, Tooms and Hyam.

The U16 side continued their amazing run with a 2-0 victory over the same opposition, their 12th straight victory.

Irish trialist Aaron Burns opened the scoring on 20 minutes when he beat the keeper from a tight angle after a long ball from Billy Clark.

Just after the hour mark, Town striker Ronan Murray and a Charlton defender both received straight red cards.

The Blues then scored their second when left-back Seb Dunbar had a shot saved by the keeper, but the rebound fell to Connor Wickham who tapped it into the net.

Ipswich U16s: Traveller, Roe, Dunbar, Cawley, Whittaker, Eastman, Brown, Clark, Wickham, Murray and Burns. Subs (all used): Griffiths, Hyam and Matthews.
