Hibs Defender Jones Linked Again

Sunday's tabloids are once again linking the Blues with a January move for Hibernian central defender Rob Jones. Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce is also claimed to be keeping an eye on Town midfielder Liam Trotter.

Town boss Jim Magilton revealed his interest in 6ft 7in tall Jones in September and, according to today's reports, will look to spend £1 million of his £12 million war chest on the 28-year-old when the transfer window opens.

The Blues are also again linked with Blackpool's Wes Hoolahan, a left-sided midfielder valued at around the £500,000 mark, and Plymouth's David Norris, who would cost around £1 million.

Elsewhere, Steve Bruce's numerous trips to watch Town are now claimed to be due to an interest in midfielder Liam Trotter. Previously, Bruce, the father of Town defender Alex, was claimed to be keeping tabs on the Blues as he was eyeing first Danny Haynes and then Jon Walters.

Town boss Jim Magilton confirmed after Saturday's game that there is likely to be some movement out of Portman Road as well as in when the transfer window opens: “Some of them aren't playing with that sort of passion and as a result some of them aren't going to be here for much longer.”
