Town are once again the proud owners of Europe's longest ongoing home unbeaten streak after Everton ended AZ Alkmaar's run on Thursday evening by defeating the Dutchmen 3-2 at their DSB Stadion.

At the end of last month, AZ took their home unbeaten record to 32 matches, one more than Town's run, but Louis Van Gaal's side couldn't stretch their run any further, the Toffeemen bringing it to a close and handing the record back to the Blues.

Town's still unbeaten home streak stretches from the European Cup preliminary round tie with Maltese club Floriana in September 1962, which was won 10-0, to the 1-0 home UEFA Cup second round victory over Czech side Slovan Liberec in October 2002.
