Albanian Claims Town Have Watched Him
Albanian Claims Town Have Watched Him

Albanian international Edvin Murati (or Edwin Murati depending on where you read about him) has claimed that Town watched him play recently and that he is keen to play in England. The 25-year-old is suspended and won't play in tonight's international against England.

The left-sided midfield player is currently playing in France for top of the table Lille where he has scored one goal in his five appearances this season. Previously he has played for Paris Saint-Germain, Chateauroux and Dusseldorf.

The Tirana-born player said: "All the top French players go to England and you can see they enjoy it there. Plus the money is so much better. Maybe one day I'll play in England. I know Ipswich watched me against Marseille in my last match. I understand they need someone strong on their left side."

He has 11 caps for his country and has scored two goals. It is a bit of a rags to riches tale for Murati who originally arrived in France as Murati as an illegal immigrant when 15-years-old. Shortly afterwards he was offered a trial with Paris Saint-Germain's U17 side.

From there he gained political asylum with the help of PSG, and was loaned to both Chateauroux and Dusseldorf. After failing to make an impression on the PSG first team on his return he joined Lille last summer, despite interest in Germany from Borussia Dortmund.

He has failed to make too much impression at his new club too, and another move may be likely this summer. And Town are after a left-sided midfielder...
