Plymouth manager Paul Sturrock again insisted that David Norris would be staying at Home Park after his side's 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Portsmouth on Saturday afternoon. Town are still keen to sign the former Bolton and Boston man, despite having two bids turned down.

Sturrock says Norris could still have a lengthy future with the Pilgrims despite having had a transfer request turned down: "He's highly valued here and will, hopefully, be highly valued for some time to come. He gave a really professional performance today."

Meanwhile, Leicester City central defender Gareth McAuley is reported to be demanding financial parity with some of his more highly-paid team-mates.

The Foxes are understood to have offered the Northern Irishman a new deal worth £5,000-a-week but, according to a tabloid, McAuley is after a contract closer to the £15,000-a-week taken home by fellow defender Bruno N'Gotty.

Town recently had a bid believed to be £600,000 turned down with Jim Magilton stating earlier this week that he will return with a higher offer. However, even if he does and it is accepted, the Blues are unlikely to be paying wages approaching McAuley's reported demands.
