Town Sign Macedonian International Tuesday, 29th Jan 2008 13:16 Town have announced that they are close to completing the signing of Macedonian international midfielder Velice Sumulikoski from Turkish side Bursaspor. The 26-year-old has been on trial at Portman Road since the weekend. Chief executive Derek Bowden told the club site: "I can confirm that we have agreed terms with the player and his club. "The player still has to undergo a medical and it may be that we have to apply for a work permit as well." Sumulikoski, capped 46 times by his country, was previously on trial with Blackburn and had also been linked with Norwich City. Described as the Balkans answer to Steven Gerrard, Sumulikoski started his career with a three-year spell with NK Publikum in his home country, before moving on to Czech side FC Slovácko in 2002. A switch to Russian side Zenit Saint Petersburg followed in 2004, prior to his move to Turkey in 2006.
