Burley on Hoddle Departure
Burley on Hoddle Departure

George Burley has commented on Glenn Hoddle's departure from Southampton ahead of Town's game at the Dell Monday. Town have few problems other than the injury to Jamie Clapham mentioned earlier.

The Town boss said: "We won't know if it's a good or bad time to play them until the result. They have been in tremendous form though and have some quality players. It's always very difficult at Southampton and I don't think that will change."

It seems likely that Town's game with Liverpool will be in May if Gerard Houllier's complaint over the scheduling of the game on April 10th is upheld by the Premier League. Houllier says that his side have too many fixtures in a short time and wants the Town game moved.

Some have suggested April 25th for the game as Liverpool's fixture list is relatively clear then. However, Ireland, Holland and Iceland have games that day which means Town would possibly be without Hermann Hreidarsson, Matt Holland and perhaps Martijn Reuser. So that date seems to be out. Other than that May seems to be the only time the game could be played and even then finding a date is dependent on Liverpool's continued progress within the FA and UEFA Cups.

Also talking about Liverpool's fixture situation is John Scales in his latest TWTD column. John also talks about England, the reserve game with Leicester, Tottenham, Southampton and his contract situation. Read the column here: http://www.twtd.co.uk/scales
