The Blues are one of several clubs interested in signing Fulham striker David Healy on loan, according to reports in the Northern Irish press. Town, Sheffield Wednesday, QPR, Watford, Charlton and Norwich are all claimed to be monitoring Healy's situation.

The 28-year-old has fallen out of favour since Roy Hodgson took over at Craven Cottage and the frontman is said to be keen on a loan move as he seeks to replicate his international form at club level.

Town boss Jim Magilton is a huge admirer of Healy, often praising him very highly while a BBC pundit during Northern Ireland's impressive Euro 2008 campaign, on one occasion describing him as “world class”.

The emergency loan window opened on Friday with the Blues still having a significant proportion of Marcus Evans's £12 million to spend and with Magilton confirming he will be looking at the loan market.
