SnOasis, the proposed winter sports resort at Great Blakenham, has emerged as one of the companies interested in becoming Town's new sponsor. SnOasis developer Onslow Suffolk has revealed that talks have taken place with the Blues.

Godfrey Spanner, Onslow Suffolk's managing director, says things are at an early stage: "I have met with Ipswich Town and have had discussions. We are not planning too far ahead, but it is a nice thought and could happen.”

Hazel Blears, the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, is set to announce whether the controversial project has been given the go-ahead on May 7th.

A Town spokesman says they have met with a number of parties interested in becoming the club's sponsor: "We can confirm that we have spoken to a number of organisations who have indicated an interest in sponsoring the club once the current arrangement with E.ON expires in the summer. No decisions have been taken at this time and we will be making no further comment until later in the year."

The Blues expect to know the identity of E.ON's successor early in the close season.
