Boss Jim Magilton felt his side deserved their 1-1 draw at Wolverhampton Wanderers, despite only pulling a goal back through Tommy Miller's freekick in injury time.

Magilton said: "I thought we deserved something from the game. The goal we conceded was a poor one defensively but we kept going and you have got to give the players great credit.

"It was a great freekick and I thought Miller played very well. It was an important point but how important we won't know until the end of the season. We will keep going and see where it takes us.

"We played well in patches, especially in the first half and I felt we were worth the point.

"Wolves are a good side and, although it was bad defending from us for their goal, the lad took it really well.

"I have criticised my players in the past for lack of character, but they deserve a lot of credit today for going right until the end and getting their just rewards.

"It means we have to go Preston now and get a win and then see where that leaves us going into the last game of the season at home to Hull."

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy felt the last ditch goal was harsh on his players: "It's a bitter pill to swallow that, isn't it?

"I'm not sure the players deserved that. I really don't want what has happened to let that happen - it was a well-taken freekick.

"I feel for the players they have given everything. All we can do is come back tomorrow and regroup.

"I can't ask any more of my players - they are desperately trying to win. If we are not good enough for promotion then that is it."
