Haynes Linked With Portsmouth Again
Haynes Linked With Portsmouth Again

Striker Danny Haynes has again been linked with Premier League Portsmouth. The 20-year-old was previously mentioned in connection with the FA Cup winners in April.

The latest report appears to come as a result of Haynes playing in Monday's charity game for the Nwankwo Kanu Heart Foundation at Fratton Park in which he scored, but is the latest in a number of stories linking the former England U19 international with a Premier League side.

Haynes, priced at £2 million by the latest report, has also been linked with Everton, West Ham, Wigan and now relegated Birmingham in various reports in recent months.

The striker says the stories are flattering but isn't going to think about the prospect of moving until he has been away on his summer break: "It is nice to know Premier League clubs are interested in you because it means you are doing something right.

"I would love to play at that level one day, any player would, but I am not thinking about anything until I come back from holiday.”

Meanwhile, Derby say they have received no contact from the Blues regarding Jay McEveley, linked with a return to Portman Road earlier in the week.

Elsewhere, former Blue Sammy Moore, released by Stevenage Borough, has been offered a contract by home town side Dover Athletic, who will play in the Ryman Premier Division next season.
