Gray on Rhodes Link Wednesday, 23rd Jul 2008 10:41 Northampton Town manager Stuart Gray has commented on reports earlier in the week linking him with a loan move for Town striker Jordan Rhodes. Boss Jim Magilton subsequently said he would be unwilling to allow the 18-year-old move at present, but could loan the youngster later in the season. Gray said: "We're always going to be linked with Ipswich players because I've got a good relationship with Jim Magilton. "I think clubs can see how we develop players when we have them on loan and the football we give them. "Championship clubs do carry big squads and they let players out, but in the Premier League this season you can name seven subs, so it will be harder to get players from that level." Last season, fellow frontman Dean Bowditch spent time on loan with the Cobblers. Meanwhile, Town's U15s continued their good start to their Dana Cup campaign in Denmark. Having beaten Swedish side Höllvikens GIF 7-1 in their opening game yesterday morning, Norwegians Tertnes FB were hammered 5-1 in the afternoon. The Blues youngsters take on another Norwegian side Runar IL this lunchtime in the group decider.
