SGR FM have announced that Town fans in North Suffolk and most of Norfolk will be able to hear commentary on the Blues this season on digital radio via Gold Norfolk's DAB stream.

The Gold Norfolk digital stream covers a large geographical area from the Beccles/Lowestoft region as far north as Cromer, including Great Yarmouth and Norwich.

SGR FM programme controller Dan Thorpe said: "We're delighted to be able to offer full match commentary of every Ipswich Town game to fans across North Suffolk and Norfolk.

"This means that more than a million people can now hear Town games on the radio, for free – far more than ever before.

"We have been working closely with the club for a long time to make sure Ipswich fans in these areas were able to listen, and we're really happy with the solution.”

Town's sales and marketing director Andrew Goulborn added: "We are pleased that SGR FM's coverage of ITFC games will now be available to even more Town fans through DAB.”

SGR FM is available via 97.1 and 96.4FM nearer to Ipswich. Details of precisely where SGR FM can be received and other questions relating to their coverage can be found here.

Meanwhile, Town have revealed that all adult season ticket holders can travel to and from home games at children's rates on Ipswich Buses and First Eastern Counties this season. Fans need only show their season ticket to the bus driver. More details here.

Town's reserve team fixtures have been announced with the Blues facing Peterborough on August 20th in their first game. The full fixture list, including the new Combination Challenge Cup ties, can be seen on the club site.

Elsewhere, former Blue James Scowcroft has been linked with Cardiff, Watford and Preston. Scowcroft is currently with Crystal Palace.

Jamie Clapham has failed to win a deal with Southend after a trial, while David Unsworth is on a similar spell at Huddersfield and Scott Barron is trying his luck at Stevenage Borough.
