TWTD Prediction League Back for Its Ninth Season
TWTD Prediction League Back for Its Ninth Season
Friday, 1st Aug 2008 12:19

The TWTD Prediction League is back for the 2008/09 season. Now in its ninth year, we ask you to predict the score and first Town scorer in each league match this season with prizes to be won.

The Prediction League is largely unchanged in its format from previous seasons, but we've made a few tweaks here and there. This year the registration process is linked to the Message Board login, so you can access the Prediction League if you're registered for the Board and vice versa.

If you're already registered for the Board, you can just move across to the Prediction League, log your prediction, then carry on posting on the Board without logging in and out each time. If you're yet to register on the site, you can do so here. Your profile will enable you to use the Prediction League as well as the Message Board and other new features we'll be rolling out this season. Your Report, for example, will also be linked to the same registration, as will Town Topics.

The scoring system remains unchanged from previous years. You'll get three points if you predict the correct score plus a bonus of the number of goals netted by the Blues. For example, if you correctly predict that we'll beat Norwich 5-0, you'll get three points for the correct score prediction and a bonus of five. If you get the scoreline wrong but say that we'll beat Norwich, you'll get just one point. If you correctly predict the scorer of Town's first goal, you'll get two points. 'Own Goal' and 'No Scorer' are amongst the options.

As usual, we'll send you an email reminder the day before a match, but this year you'll be able to turn this facility off as we know it annoyed some people. Also, you can easily withdraw from the league at any time. Both options are in the 'Settings' option on the Prediction League menu.

The winner of the entire network's Prediction League will receive a season ticket for the 2009/10 season. In order to keep the competition interesting throughout the season there will be monthly prizes, so watch the site for details. Even if you don't think you've got a chance for the big prize, you can still win.

There were a small number of people unable to use the Prediction League last season due to technical problems (browsers not allowing Javascript from a different server), but these have been fixed. If you were one of those suffering, please give it another try!
