Town target Ben Thatcher has left Wolves after his trial and continues to consider his options, according to Molineux boss Mick McCarthy. Thatcher joined up with Wolves earlier in the week having been with the Blues on their trip to Belfast.

Jim Magilton subsequently confirmed that the former Charlton man had been offered the chance to join Town.

The 32-year-old played in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Bolton on Wednesday but McCarthy, who also has another left-back Ian Harte on trial, says he will not play for his side against Blackburn this weekend: "Ian's with us and will be involved, but Ben's got a number of options and it's up to him to pursue them. At the moment nothing's happening with either of them."
