Izaguirre Offered Deal
Izaguirre Offered Deal
Saturday, 2nd Aug 2008 20:00

Trialist Emilio Izaguirre has been offered a contract by Town, according to reports in his native Honduras. The 22-year-old has been with the Blues for the last fortnight, but has been unable to play in any pre-season friendlies due to red tape.

Personal terms are said to have been agreed with the player, while the Blues are now in talks with his club Motagua regarding a fee, which appears to be a formality.

Izaguirre, a left-back or left midfielder, is reported to be travelling to Spain next week to sort out his work permit, which suggests he qualifies to play in the EU via a Spanish passport.

Capped 20 times by his full national side, scoring one goal, Izaguirre was part of the Honduran U20 team which took part in the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championships in Holland.

Izaguirre will be the first Honduran to represent the Blues.
