Garvan Signs New Contract
Monday, 4th Aug 2008 20:14

Excellent news going into tonight's match against West Ham is that Owen Garvan has put an end to the speculation linking him away from Portman Road by signing a new three-year contract.

Additionally, Pablo Counago has also signed a similar extension making them both contracted until 2011.

"It's fantastic news for this Football Club in what is a very big season for us," Jim Magilton told the club site.

"Both Pablo and Owen are very important players for us and it's a sign of the confidence they have in Ipswich Town that they have committed their future here for another three years.

"They are ambitious players and want to the playing in the Premier League and they have a part to play in helping us get there.

"Signing Owen and Pablo on long term deals is also a sign of the ambitions we have here. We are no longer in a position where we have to sell our best players.

"We have an ambitious owner who wants to see this Club back in the Premier League and signing Owen and Pablo on three year contracts is another step in that direction."
