Sheepshanks Linked With FA Role
Sheepshanks Linked With FA Role
Thursday, 21st Aug 2008 15:47

Perhaps inevitably, Town chairman David Sheepshanks has been linked with the soon-to-be-vacant job of chief executive of the FA. Current incumbent Brian Barwick will stand down at the end of the year.

Sheepshanks, currently an FA and Football League board member, is likely to be an outsider for the role with Manchester United chief executive David Gill and the FA's chief operating officer Alex Horne believed to be the favourites.

Meanwhile, the petition calling for the North Stand to be renamed in honour of Sir Bobby Robson has reached the 1,800 mark.
