Thatcher Making Progress

Left-back Ben Thatcher is making good progress as he recovers from the torn thigh muscle he sustained in the Carling Cup tie with Wigan Athletic. The 32-year-old is currently cycling and is expected to step up his training regime next week.

Physio Matt Byard told the club site: "You have to be very careful during rehabilitation with the sort of injury that Ben has.

"But we have been very pleased with the progress he has made. He has been doing some cycling work and we will be looking to step up his workload next week.

"It's important that we continue to monitor his condition at every stage, but all the signs of a good recovery are very encouraging."

Thatcher was expected to be out of action for six weeks when he initially sustained the injury just over a fortnight ago.
