Town chief executive Derek Bowden has called for patience from fans as the Blues' disappointing season continues. Tuesday's draw at Nottingham Forest leaves Town in 18th in the Championship.

Bowden said: "I don't think it is going to take that much longer but clearly we would ask supporters to be patient. We have seen improvement and I feel there will be continued improvement but it is still work in progress.”

The chief executive denied suggestions that the Blues have gone backwards this season and says the side is gradually moving in the right direction: "I don't think it is a decline, it is a very tight league. We are not far off a play-off position, equally we are not far off a bottom three place too.

"There has been a steady improvement in the past few games and Jim is busily honing down his optimum squad of 16 and starting XI.”

Despite a ‘Jim out' poll being posted on the TWTD Message Board yesterday, Bowden says the Town board are not at the stage where Magilton's future is in question: "We are not at that point so I don't know when it is the right time to change a manager. We are happy with the set-up we have got.”
