Boss Jim Magilton has admitted that the Blues would allow midfielder Iván Campo to move on if the right offer came in. Campo has rarely featured since joining Town on a free transfer in the summer.

Magilton said: "If something can be fixed up that is right for the football club and for Iván then we would let him out.”

Charlton assistant manager Phil Parkinson recently proposed a swap deal involving Darren Ambrose and the veteran former Real Madrid and Bolton man, but Addicks boss Alan Pardew subsequently ruled a move for the Spaniard out with the ex-England U21 returning to Suffolk on loan last week. It is likely Campo's terms were beyond Charlton's current means.

Campo moved to Portman Road in the summer having been released by Bolton. A Champions League winner while with Real Madrid, the 34-year-old had lucrative offers from clubs in Qatar but preferred instead to join the Blues for less cash in order to play a better standard of football.

Capped once by Spain, Campo has made six starts and two sub appearances for the Blues, scoring once, but has been unable to win a regular place in the side.

Meanwhile, Town chief executive Derek Bowden says the Blues aren't likely to sign any more emergency loan players prior to next Thursday's deadline. After that, clubs are unable to bring in any more players until the transfer window opens in January.

Town are reportedly set to bring over three or four players spotted on Steve McCall and Simon Hunt's recent scouting trip to Argentina as they look to continue strengthening the squad during January.

The Blues are also again being linked with Derry City winger Niall McGinn. The 21-year-old was first linked with the Blues in August and again in October.

Town will be hosting Prince Charles on December 2nd when he visits Portman Road to recognise the club's Community Trust's wide range of schemes.
