Season Ticket Renewals Out Soon
Season Ticket Renewals Out Soon

Chief executive Derek Bowden fans will start to receive season ticket renewal packages in the next couple of weeks. He says the club's 2009/10 plans will take into account the current financial climate.

Bowden told TWTD: ”We're finalising the offer and the package which is going to go out to season ticket holders and it will be ready in a week or so. We've just got to decide when we go with it, but I think we'll go sooner rather than later.

"There's no point in holding back, so I think in the next couple of weeks it will start landing on people's doormats.”

The chief executive admits that it will be hard for the club to retain all 15,000 current season ticket holders in the current economic climate: "It's clearly tough for every single football club, for every business. Talking to other clubs, I don't think any of them expect to hold onto 100% of the season ticket holders that they have this season.

"Financially, life's moved on hugely in the last six months, but we would hope that as many as possible will renew and we're putting together a package which we think reflects the economic situation and shows supporters that we value their support, value their investment in the club and appreciate that the economy's tough.

”We'll have to work to get the same level of season tickets next year as we've had this year, as will every other club in the league.”

TWTD understands that prices are likely to be frozen and that a scheme will be introduced which will allow fans to pay for their tickets over a longer period than has previously been the case.

While not confirming that this is part of their plans, Bowden admitted that something along those lines will be included: "We're putting a package together which reflects economic reality. We'll also make it easier for people to pay.”
