Club owner Marcus Evans has thanked the club's fans for their support during the 2008/09 season and says he is confident the Blues will be back in the Premier League before too long.

Evans says, in an interview which appears in the programme for Sunday's game against Coventry, that the Portman Road crowd can spur the Blues on to promotion next season: "I would like to personally thank all our fans for their support this season and especially to the thousands who have committed to season tickets for next year.

"If ever there is a season to support Town and provide that extra something that will take us to the Premier League, it's the year ahead.

"There is a commitment from everyone at the club to get Ipswich back to where we belong. I've been to many games in the time I have been here and I have seen the passion the fans have for this club. I was at Chelsea when 6,000 Town fans drowned out the home support.

"I have loved every minute of being involved with Ipswich Town - well virtually every minute - and I have every confidence that we can move forward together. Ipswich Town will be a Premier League club sooner rather than later."
