Trotter Off to Wembley With Scunthorpe

Midfielder Liam Trotter will be hoping to get the nod to start for loan club Scunthorpe in Sunday's League One play-off final at Wembley (Sky Sports One, 12.50pm). The Iron face Millwall for a place in the Championship.

Trotter regained his place in Nigel Adkins's side for the second leg of the semi-final with the MK Dons, netting a spotkick in their 7-6 penalties win after the tie was drawn 1-1 on aggregate.

Boss Roy Keane watched that game and may well be at Wembley to catch the 20-year-old in action again. Trotter is now the only out of contract player still to learn his fate.

Meanwhile, exiting Town left-back Dan Harding will be joining former loan club Reading, according to one of this morning's tabloids. Earlier this week, Royals director of football Nick Hammond indicated that a deal at the Madejski Stadium could be on the cards for Harding, released by the Blues on Wednesday.

Town manager Roy Keane has reportedly already instigated changes at the Playford Road, as he said he intended to do within days of joining the Blues. Fewer people are being allowed to come in and out of the Blues' training ground, while catering is being reviewed.

The players have also been told to wear suits on match days, while three-quarter length tracksuit bottoms have been banned. Keane is also reported to have taken a training session with AC Milan and examined their facilities earlier this year prior to joining the Blues.

Elsewhere, former Blue Gavin Johnson, 38, has signed a new one-year deal with Bury Town.

And Dundalk are the latest Irish club to have invited Town for a pre-season friendly in July. Former Blues George O'Callaghan and Michael Synnott are currently with the Lilywhites, while first team coach Tony Loughlan was a player at Oriel Park in the 1994/95 season.

Town have already agreed to play a game at Cork on July 19th, although the match is still to be confirmed, while Limerick and Shamrock Rovers are also believed to have offered to play friendlies.
