Midfielder Liam Trotter is reportedly meeting boss Roy Keane today to discover whether he has a future with the Blues. The 20-year-old, who has been away on loan at Scunthorpe, is the only one of the 13 out of contract players still to find out whether or not he is staying at Portman Road.

Keane watched Trotter in action for the Iron in their play-off semi-final second leg against the MK Dons, in which the Town academy product scored in a 7-6 penalty shoot-out victory. The Ipswich-born midfielder came on as a sub in the final as Scunthorpe secured their return to the Championship.

If Trotter, who has also had loan spells at Millwall and Grimsby, is released then Scunthorpe may well try to sign him on a permanent basis.

Meanwhile, former Blues boss Jim Magilton, recently interviewed for the vacant manager's position at QPR, is reported to have applied for the same role at Aberdeen.
