Sheffield United Agree Evans Fee

Manchester City and Sheffield United are reported to have agreed a £3 million fee for striker Ched Evans. Various national newspapers have claimed that the Blues have been battling the Blades for the Welshman's signature over the last week.

Former Norwich loanee Evans is widely expected to leave Eastlands this summer with City having added more big name strikers to their squad in recent weeks.

Even if they've missed out on Evans, Town look certain to add to their striking ranks this summer with a move for Sunderland's Daryl Murphy also having failed. The Blues seem likely to sell both Pablo Couñago and Kevin Lisbie in the weeks to come, while Danny Haynes has already left the club in a £400,000 deal with Bristol City.

Various other strikers have been mentioned as potential targets, including released Sheffield United frontman Danny Webber, while 19-year-old Celta Vigo attacker Joselu is the latest name to be claimed to be a potential target.

Elsewhere, former Town academy striker Kieran Leabon has signed a one-year deal with Histon after a trial, having left Boston United at the end of last season.
