Wright and Thatcher in Reserves
Wright and Thatcher in Reserves
Tuesday, 4th Aug 2009 14:34

David Wright and Ben Thatcher are included in the Blues squad for this evening’s reserves friendly at Bury Town’s Ram Meadow (KO 7.45pm).

Thatcher will play his first game since damaging knee ligaments at the end of last season, while Wright picked up a rib injury at Charlton a week ago.

Also included in the travelling party are summer signings Troy Brown and Shane O’Connor, as well as Reggie Lambe and Ed Upson. Tickets cost £9 for adults, £4 for concessions and £2 for children under-10.

I hope both of them are fit again soon. As much as I like Thatcher though, I do think Delaney will be replacing him. Unless Keane plans to play Delaney at CB and Thatcher on the left, which would be totally fine by me ;)

i think david wright should bloody well remain in the reserves permanently. Hes slow, lazy and has the first touch of a disabled old woman. Thatcher on the other hand has shown real desire to play for this football team and will hopefully be able to get abit of match fitness inorder to play for the first team and keep out donkey delaney....another shocking signing by RK.

Thatcher can get used to playing the likes of Stevenage's second string!

samassiabou...... You seem to be the only person on my wave-length. David Wright is a very ordinary player, he's not a great tackler and going forward he hasn't got a clue. And if he thinks he's got Bruce as an alternative at RB.... then he's got less of an idea than Super Jim. If Thatcher is fit - he can get stuck in - he's hopeless at forward play also. Delaney - we have to give him a chance. He shouldn't be judged by a few pre-season games and needs time to fit into the team / club.

David Wright is a quality defender - simple as! Anyone who thinks he is lazy and doesn't work hard must watch with their eyes closed!

Wright is a solid and above average championship dfender, who gives his all for the club. Who fails to remember his debut? A superb performance against Colu, followed by a standing ovation as he got sent off, for getting stuck in. And his goal against Nottm Forest last season. Brilliant.
