Priskin Having Town Medical Thursday, 6th Aug 2009 15:41
Watford striker Tamas Priskin is undergoing a medical at Portman Road, the Blues and Hornets having agreed a £1.7 million fee for the Hungarian international. TWTD was first to break the news of Town's interest in the 22-year-old last Thursday.
Earlier this week, Priskin’s agent József Vörösbaranyi confirmed that the Blues had made an offer for the striker, believed to be in the region of £1.2 million, which the Hertfordshire club turned down. However, Vörösbaranyi indicated that he felt a deal would ultimately be done.
Meanwhile, we understand the Blues are also moving closer to signing Sunderland striker Daryl Murphy. Yesterday, TWTD revealed that Town had renewed their efforts to land the Irish international.
Elsewhere, Bohemians manager Pat Fenlon has issued a hands-off warning to the Blues regarding goalkeeper Brian Murphy and midfielder Gary Deegan: "Gary and Brian won't be leaving before the [Irish] season is over [in November]."
As for the Irish players - ok. Fine. You can keep them.
The Priskin deal sounds damn good though - I think he'll do really well for us. And Murphy? Alright, as long as we're not paying through the roof for him. His goal-to-game ratio has been shot because he played on the left a whole lot more than he did as a striker.
nugent is a nugget! cant say i'm happy about murphy either, they've both turned us down, so why do they want to play for us now? only 100% commited players please, maybe nugget didnt come cos of magic, but he's still a div, having a bust up with a fellow player. i'm local to pompey and we reckon the bust up was cos marc wilson said to nugget he'd play more games for pompey this season, bout right!
Priskin should be amazing! We don't need Murphy as he has already turned us down because of money and we don't need another long drawn out Nugent affair, I'm sure he's prepared to sit and get paid well in the Portsmouth reserves anyway.
good signing.... anymore and pablo wont get a game for the academy boys!! Swansea beckons for him. A mate who is a Mackem tells me the little ginger lad we've signed will put himself about and add backbone..... any centre halves coming? Go on get Shittu for £2MILL and scare the life out of opposing forwards.
