Priskin Having Town Medical
Priskin Having Town Medical
Thursday, 6th Aug 2009 15:41

Watford striker Tamas Priskin is undergoing a medical at Portman Road, the Blues and Hornets having agreed a £1.7 million fee for the Hungarian international. TWTD was first to break the news of Town's interest in the 22-year-old last Thursday.

Earlier this week, Priskin’s agent József Vörösbaranyi confirmed that the Blues had made an offer for the striker, believed to be in the region of £1.2 million, which the Hertfordshire club turned down. However, Vörösbaranyi indicated that he felt a deal would ultimately be done.

Meanwhile, we understand the Blues are also moving closer to signing Sunderland striker Daryl Murphy. Yesterday, TWTD revealed that Town had renewed their efforts to land the Irish international.

Elsewhere, Bohemians manager Pat Fenlon has issued a hands-off warning to the Blues regarding goalkeeper Brian Murphy and midfielder Gary Deegan: "Gary and Brian won't be leaving before the [Irish] season is over [in November]."

As we reported yesterday, the Blues are understood to be interested in Murphy, while Deegan was linked with Town a fortnight ago.

Great news, hope it all goes through now.

As for Murphy, if Keane thinks he's worth it we should support them both. Who here wouldn't reject a job offer in favour of a more lucrative one??!!

Delighted that it looks like RK has landed his target! As I was responsible for posting his vid on the "rumour" thread, might as well do it again on the "medical" thread (and probably again on the "signed" thread ;^D)

look i understand it seems a big joke but this jack bell is on his way to town although not many people have heard of him i can ensure everone that is is a real player. When he signs on the dotted line this week i dont want to be saying i told you so. I dont think he will start straight away but as the season progresses he will be more involved as he is a huge talent.

Seems like he loves a 'dinked over the keeper' finish! I'm also loving the step-overs that actually take him into a goal-scoring position as opposed, for example to Darren Currie (who did on-the-spot step-overs) or Danny Haynes (whose step-overs usually sent the ball into touch).

If this goes through it could be a real coup. Him and Jan V of H up top? Lovely stuff!

steve my follow tractor boy this is starting to bore me to jack bell is a real player he has been linked with a number of clubs in england, such as reading, wolves, burnley and stoke so for us to get him would be a great buy. He is tall and stocky player with an eye for goal. quote from tony pulis " yes jack is a player we are looking at but from what I hear there are a few clubs after him so we will have to be patient and see what happens" . Eat your words as a pop up on sky sports news has confirmed that Ipswich are close to a double signing that of thomas priskin and yours truly JACK BELL from cork.

As for the Daryl Murphy transfer, I hope RK keeps the chequebook closed...if the fee is £1.5m-ish as reported, that's a lot of money to pay for a 26 year old who's only scored as many CAREER goals as Tamas Priskin scored last season (I'm not going to hold the fact that he's turned us down twice against him...)

However, as he can also play left-midfield, would be happy to see him come in on loan until January when (hopefully) Civelli will be back with a bang!

After a brief perusal the you tube video of Priskin finishing, I am of the opinion that he has 'dinking it over the keeper' down to a tee. Which is nice.

well they did say up to 3 players could sign although these players being linked are all at clubs, so hesselink could be a no go but we'll see what happens!

This is a huge mistake... what planet is keane on.. im guessin noone on this site except me have actuall seen him play and not just played championship manager like marcussmith93... In dream land with dos santos, not happening... The town fans on twtd need a shot of reality and we need to get rid of keane and bring in someone with more pasiion for the game.

Fantastic news if Priskin joins us! I'd take Murphy with his so long as he isn't too expensive. I won't believe Gio is coming just yet as that is a dream!
