Priskin Having Town Medical
Priskin Having Town Medical
Thursday, 6th Aug 2009 15:41

Watford striker Tamas Priskin is undergoing a medical at Portman Road, the Blues and Hornets having agreed a £1.7 million fee for the Hungarian international. TWTD was first to break the news of Town's interest in the 22-year-old last Thursday.

Earlier this week, Priskin’s agent József Vörösbaranyi confirmed that the Blues had made an offer for the striker, believed to be in the region of £1.2 million, which the Hertfordshire club turned down. However, Vörösbaranyi indicated that he felt a deal would ultimately be done.

Meanwhile, we understand the Blues are also moving closer to signing Sunderland striker Daryl Murphy. Yesterday, TWTD revealed that Town had renewed their efforts to land the Irish international.

Elsewhere, Bohemians manager Pat Fenlon has issued a hands-off warning to the Blues regarding goalkeeper Brian Murphy and midfielder Gary Deegan: "Gary and Brian won't be leaving before the [Irish] season is over [in November]."

As we reported yesterday, the Blues are understood to be interested in Murphy, while Deegan was linked with Town a fortnight ago.

Surely money is the main factor! Town could offer more then most clubs can to mathcing his wages.

I reckon we will bring in Dos santos and Jan V of H before transfer deadline although we face tough competition for Jan V of H as his former clubs PSV and FC TWENTE want him and possibly Murphy although i dont want him as a month ago he played about with us!!! let him rot in the reserves if he cant make his mind up!!!

I dont reckon scholes is a possibilty because if Man U were to let him go out on loan it would be to a premier league team as scholes is way better than championship - he wants first team premiership not championship

After Priskin's (hopefully imminent) arrival and all of this talk of Vennegor, Gio and now Scholes (hmmm, doubt it), the possibility of signing Murphy seems like a bit of a come down as a strike option. Still, I really think under Keane and with the team we've got everyone has a chance to shine so he'd be a welcome recruit in my book.

just on sky Priskin has passed his medical and agreed personal terms to make the switch to Roy Keane's men.

The 22-year-old has inked a three-year deal with the option of a further 12 months at Portman Road.

Now that's what I'm talking about. Good news. Well done Mr Keane. Lets hope Gio might follow.... but if not, we've got someone who can poach a few goals and hopefully make the difference between a draw and win. Quite exciting....

I can't believe some of these pro-Keane supporters who will back the new man whatever happens. Two games and two wins - but what else has he done? Apart from set up the academy as a kind of footballing Byker Grove for Irish orphans... It's just a shame that John Duncan didn't this this blind devotion during his tenure...

And I can't believe that we should let our best centre half in decades leave the club... bring back Manu Thetis.
