Jamie Underwood, 21, pleaded guilty to taking tributes to Sir Bobby Robson from the legendary Blues boss’s statue at South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court earlier today.

Underwood, of Burrell Road, Ipswich, admitted the theft of the shirts, scarves and other memorabilia on August 15th when he was stopped by the police outside the Station Hotel at 3am.

Elizabeth Bradshaw, mitigating for Underwood, said he couldn't recall taking the shirts and genuinely regretted doing so.

The case has been adjourned until September 14th while a pre-sentence report is carried out.

Disrespectful T w a t about sums it up. Public apology to Robson family, community and fans needed; and how about a nice big fine to be paid to Bobby Robson's charity and some Community service working with some of the people the fund supports! So the useless idiot gets an insight into what he's ripping off... another fine example of todays youth (who'll probably get a slap on the wrists)

If its his first offence, hes likely to get a £80 fixed penalty fine, at worst a Caution.

Its a farce.

Council says - Perhaps he should be given a holiday to florida, it might make him a better person.

Complete idiot, should get punished for an unforgivable crime to the community. But, hate comments are a little bit childish.
Kind of agree with him being put in front of the north stand to see what they have to say about it though lol

Do not put him in prison as he will get 5 star treatment

Make him do community service and work with Sir Bobby's charities

Further more make him watch the whole season at Portman Road, that's enough to make any one not re offend (he he !!!)

I think by actually naming him is a fairly decent punishment as I'm sure some town fans will no him, how safe for him will it be walking down the high street if he's identified, total fcuking scum

i think they should tie him up in the goal out side the ground so everyone can have a shot with a ball from 1meter away and if u suddenly kick him on the way through it will be a better felling

I doubt he'll get a lot from court. He'll probably get less than the £80 fixed penalty notice, you can only get that when being dealt with there and then or at the police station and only for theft from shop.

Therefore he'll probably turn up at court, declare he's jobless and receive no fine and some community service that he won't turn up for, will then be nicked for not doing it, and then have the community service dropped because the court realise he won't do it. And they won't be brave enough to send him to prison for a sentence he truly deserves.

Shame how this country is run sometimes.
