Murphy Deal Back On?
Murphy Deal Back On?
Tuesday, 1st Sep 2009 16:51

Town’s long-running move for Sunderland striker Daryl Murphy is back on, according to a report in the closing minutes of the transfer window. The Blues are also being linked with a swap deal involving defender David Wright and Reading’s Liam Rosenior.

The Blues have been chasing Murphy all summer with a fee of £1.5 million having been agreed between the clubs. Personal terms have been the sticking point in protracted negotiations.

A report in Berkshire claims Town and Reading are negotiating a swap loan deal involving full-backs David Wright and Liam Rosenior.

There may be less urgency on these moves with loan deals possible in a week’s time when the emergency window opens.

Yes but there could be late confirmation or paperwork to be done.

Wright for Rosenior would be very good business..maybe not as solid defensively but a good attacking full back...not convinced by the Murphy deal-hope this one falls through.

Murphy is certainly no worse than Stead! Hopefully he will move on!

Lightningboy i am thinking the same thing!! i thought he was set to sign? Murphy would be alright i think but we could do better. I'm not complaining if we dont get him but likewise if we do get him. I'll swap Rosenior for Wright any day of the week! Not that Wright is bad but Rosenior is quality!

While Edwards is presumably both our first Trinny player and also our first called Carlos I wondered if Murphy might have been our first called Daryl? Shame.

That lists Gio as a town player in 09/10 as well as 08/09. This was mentioned a few weeks ago but thought it had been fixed. Changed back again?

David Wright for Rosenior?

Can anyone tell me why David Wright has fallen out of favour. Not only is he better than Rosenior and most other right backs in this league, he is a thoroughly nice bloke. I can't see what he has done to upset Keane. Explanation please?

Agree Bergholtblue! Wright is the kind of footballer I am happy to see at PR. Not only is he a decent bloke, but as far as I can see he has been our most consistent back over a number of seasons, even performing well in the left when asked to do so.

edwards behind walters on the right and wright at the left back, cause he's way better than delaney, pim or smith or even thatcher in that position...
i'm also very interested to hear about wood, think he's good.
