Harry: Dos Santos Has Part to Play at Spurs
Harry: Dos Santos Has Part to Play at Spurs
Thursday, 3rd Sep 2009 08:50

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp says former Town loanee Giovani Dos Santos has a “part to play” at White Hart Lane. Rumours of Dos Santos’s return to Portman Road have continued throughout the summer, despite manager Roy Keane describing the chances of the move taking place as “very, very, very slim”.

Redknapp says Dos Santos impressed him in a Carling Cup tie last week and could now come more into his plans: "He played the other night and did very well. He looked lively at Doncaster, so hopefully he can continue in that form.

"He's had a good spell with the Mexican national team, he was the player of the tournament recently [at the CONCACAF Gold Cup], so he looks like he's certainly got something to offer and he's got a part to play here.

"If he continues in that form, if he dedicates himself to being a top player, then there's no reason why he can't do that. He's got all the ability, but it's up to him now."

Dos Santos spent the final two months of last season on loan at Portman Road, scoring four times in six starts and two sub appearances.

Gio belongs to Spurs and will only be loaned out if it suits them , lets face it they are not desperate for us to pay Gio's wages for a few months ,so it would only be for Gio to get a few games . Problem is , if he comes and hits good form , Spurs stay in the Carling Cup and they have a few injuries Gio will be recalled . I think its a shame about Modric being injured because with him , Lennon , Bentley and Krankie, Gio would certainly be surplus.
However surely we dont mind keeping him match fit for as long as Spurs dont need him.

As a town fan aswell as a spurs, id like to see gio on loan for us for a season, its only gonna help spurs in the long run, hes not gonna get played much with the quality spurs have, loan him out harry, do us all a favour

Give him to us for the season Harry - he'll fire us up the league and to promotion winning Championship player of the season; then he'll be bang on form ready for Spurs next season.
Seriously though like "campowasgod" said Lennon and Modric are their first choice wide men, with Bentley and Kranjcar back up, so Gio down in 5th choice - so its annoying that c0ck Bowyer broke Modric's leg!

I've heard that Dos Santos was unreliable and often late for training if he turned up at all; interesting comments from Redknapp…..

bleedblue "I have contacts"

ooooooooooo, it MUST be true!

Seriously, let's get over it. He's good yes, and it would be fantastic to have him, but until we do let's move on and get excited about everyone/thing else thats going on at Town. Last week's performance was very promising and shows that team can play.

"He's got all the ability, but it's up to him now." - Sounds like a bit of a diva really. If he'd had the ability all the time, then he'd would have been playing all the time...unless he's a diva.

bleedblue, unless you REALLY do have contacts at Portman Rd, please stop winding people up. Time and time again I see people like you come on and state they have the 'inside info' and it inevitably always results in nothing.

Don't you see, it just winds us all up. It may be a joke to you, but please give it a rest as it's now wearing a bit thin.

Lets concentrate on who we have signed. This should put a smile on the face of any doubters of Eddie n Leddie

Yes great clip - Most impressive is how Leadbitter times his 'knee slide' to the corner flag ,perhaps he should not do it at FPR with our lush grass he may slide a bit further !!

He's not here, he's not coming. Line in sand and look to the future with the players we have just purchased.

Chances are now - very, very, very, very, NIL

Here Here, We have a squad now of players that are more than capable of moving up this league and also the desire to really push on. Gio would be coming here on loan just to raise his own profile, we dont need him and just as much as i would welcome him here i wouldnt be bothered or concerned if he didnt.

Lets get on supporting the players that we have and forget about emergency loans, the only transfer activity happening at PR will be players leaving.

Its time to galvanise this squad, push up the league and forget about the poxy transfer window!!

lol how enthusiastic does that commentator wanna be?! Buzziest bloke. Can you imagine him when he wakes up in the morning?
"WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY! IT MAY BE RAINING BUT AS I GET OUT OF BED I LOOKED UP AND SAW A BIT OF SUNSHINE STORMING DOWN THE MIDDLE OF THE SKY. MY WIFE IS SO HOT. WHAT A FANTASTIC DAY. EVERYTHING IS AMAZING"

They do look pretty good though
