Town trio Gareth McAuley, Tamás Priskin and Carlos Edwards will be looking to add to their international caps on Saturday.

McAuley’s Northern Ireland take on Poland in a World Cup qualifier at the Slaski Stadium in Chorzow. If he plays, the former Town skipper will win his 18th full cap, having scored one international goal. The match is being shown live on BBC2 NI, which is available on channel 992 on Sky (7.15pm).

Tamás Priskin will be out to win his 21st cap when Hungary take on Sweden in their World Cup qualifier in Budapest. The new Town striker has scored seven international goals

Carlos Edwards is set for his 75th Trinidad and Tobago cap when his side face Honduras in San Pedro Sula. Edwards has scored four international goals.

Trinidad and Tobago are coached by former Hibs midfielder Russell Latapy, who spent time on trial at Portman Road in 1998, featuring in two reserve games.

All three are again involved in World Cup qualifiers in midweek - when midfielder Owen Garvan is also in action for for the Irish U21s - before they return to Town ahead of the game at Middlesbrough.

Why do these players play well for their countries but not for us? Edwards being the exception hopefully!

We may actually see the best of Priskin. We don't know howw good he is as he has only touched the ball 5 times. One of those was hitting the post on Saturday after the ball went out of play for a corner. Who says they play well for their countires though? Priskin doesn't start too much and McAuley doesn't have a fixed position. He keeps getting switched from right back to centre half and doesn't always start either. Edwards, we know is a good player at this level and has been for a few years so if he is injury free he should be ok
