Quinn: It Will Take Time
Quinn: It Will Take Time
Wednesday, 16th Sep 2009 16:26

Midfielder Alan Quinn says it will take time for Town’s squad to gel but is confident that the Blues will climb the Championship table. The Irishman made his first league start of the season in last night’s 1-1 home draw with Nottingham Forest.

Quinn told the club site: "We had a great start and had other chances to have got a second goal which I'm sure would have been enough to win the game.

"But Dele Adebola came on and gave them a different outlet and in the end it was probably a fair result.

"We are obviously disappointed not to have won the game but we've got to stick together and that first win will come, and after it does we will be OK.

"The manager has brought some quality players to the club but it's going to take time for things to gel. You can see the ability that players like Grant and Carlos have though, and we're confident we can turn results around and climb up the table very soon."

Good Idea to use quinner for a rallying call. He is most improved player of Keano's reign.

Always liked Quinn's attitude - competitive, not scared to tackle or have a shot. Hopefully he'll kick on and grab a few goals for us this season!

Daz - Not pointless. That is my view of these continual comments from Keane et al. These threads are for us to air our views, that is my view!

Actions Keano etc.... actions!!.. not continual drivel!

Forget promotion this season. David J (our last accomplished striker apart from Marcus Stewart) had a good point on Radio Suffolk last night - a team is only as good as its strikers - look at the 2nd half substitutions of Forest...we ain't got anyone similar, and it feels unlikely that we will get anyone in time to play catch-up this season.....

This is what happens when a team is on the back foot - we argue amongst ourselves which is not constructive to fellow fans or players. Big question is: Did we lose?? We came out of the blocks last night faster than Usain Bolt and Forest Weren't Ready. That proves that we have what it takes to compete in this league. Its easy to point the finger at certain players but at the end of the day for not turning up on the day or making mistakes, but TRUE supporters need to quit the bickering and get behind the team. Wise words NW10 Tractor. Let's see all the TRUE supporters come to the fore. Easy to follow a team when they're winning every week. It's times like this the club needs the support of it's loyal fans - we WILL pull through!

(I've got to stop leaving blank messages, it's these compoota thingies, can't get the hang of them!)

I dunno why everyone is still going on about getting a new striker, yes we need to start scoring goals but we were looking for a striker and got 1 in the summer, Priskin for 1.7 million, whats goin on with him? in my opinion we need another centre back to get rid of mcauley and yes we could do with a 20 goal a season striker, my only concern is isn't that why we signed priskin? dare I say it and im sure to get the whole omg ur a norwich fan, but we could do with someone like earnshaw, yea he may have played for the scum, but he is a proven goal scorer at championship level and was said to be out of favour at forrest

earnshaw is out of favour and is proven at this level
he took his chance very well. found wanting at PL level but lets get there foirst before worrying if the squad can hack it .

forest have plenty of strikers so they might let him go.

It will take time to gel. We have had to get rid of some really awful JM signings and Roy is building. Most of his new signings looked good last night, but were let down by Stead, McAuley, Walters etc.

yep Quinnie, a second goal would have been enough to win it ...trouble is with 89minutes still on the clock they didnt get it ,Forest scored and it was a draw .

I have seen David Johnson miss-kick in front of goal several times when it would have been harder to miss. We only went on to play well when he was taken off. He was not the best striker I have seen over the years at PR.
The first half was very positive last night and something to build on.
Get behind Keano and the team you winers but like I said before you are probably Narwich Supporters hiding behind ITFC monikers.
