Town-Newcastle Game Live Abroad
Town-Newcastle Game Live Abroad
Tuesday, 22nd Sep 2009 08:37

Overseas Town fans may be able to watch Saturday’s home game against Newcastle United live on TV. In the UK, the game is live on BBC2 from 5.05pm.

Setanta is showing the game in the United States and it’s likely that the match will also be screened live elsewhere abroad. If you’re a foreign-based Blue and know the game is being shown in your country, add the details as a comment on this story.

Saturday’s match will see the club rename the North Stand the Sir Bobby Robson Stand, while the teams will wear commemorative shirts and a bucket collection will be held for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

Bonjour!

I'm in France (well I will be from Friday) and the game will be on live in my house courtesy of the Astra satellite at 28.2 degrees east.

Basically anyone living in western Europe anyway should be able to pick up the Freesat signal, hence BBC2 and hence the match! Any digital receiver along with a dish will do, and the whole lot can be picked up for about 60 euros in a decent DIY shop.

Click here for tuning details, even though an automatic search will find most of the channels: http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html

As for global embarrassment, well that's up to the fans at the game really. Even if Town go down 9-0 ye should put on a show of support to stun the world. Don't stop roaring for the whole game! From my point of view there's a good chance the neighbours will call the gendarmes because of a suspected domestic incident, even though I'll probably be watching the game on my own (boooooo! but yaaaaaaaay!!)

cheers

Phil (the real one hee hee!)

matt_the_blue - good point! For some Town fans it just keeps on raining .....

I think that given the occasion of commemorating Sir Bobby by both sets of fans, the noise will be HUGE! It will be a spine-tingling moment for 25000+ Town and 2000 Toon fans to be chanting "There's only one Bobby Robson!" in unison. Can't wait!

And for god sake you moaning, pessimistic Jeremiahs get positive. Th Blues have lost a seasons worth of games already so we will not lose another! :-)

In all the years i've grown up following Town they have always performed when u least expect it and beaten the teams they should lose to and lost to the teams they should beat! On paper the Toon should destroy Town on Saturday but I suspect the old Town spirit may just rise to the occasion and delight us all! I wonder who Sir Bobby would be shouting for? Maybe a draw would be the best result all round considering the occasion? Then again we do need the 3 points more than they do! Lol.

For live streaming of the game check out http://www.spvod.com/eindex.htm on the Saturday. No matter where you are in the world, this streaming site should show it. Quality is semi decent so should make for great viewing. Instead of getting Ian Wright and Andy Townsend doing their half times analysis you'll probably get South African commentators - but as its in English - again shoudl make for cracking viewing.

Always glad to help a fellow blue! See you at Portman Road!

Anyone know how we can watch it in Spain? Or any streaming websites apart from Justin.tv. For all you doubters Saturday will be the big turning point, we always win at least one big match a season and I have a feeling it'll be 3-0 to us.

@ Richardspain

You might be able to capture the FreeSat signal in Spain, have a look at the following Astra 2D footprint to get an idea, cos it'll be dependant on where in Spain you are whether a) you can get a signal and b) what size dish you might need:

http://www.digitalsat.co.uk/astra2dfootprint.html

As I say it would be about 60 euro for the whole kit (dish + decoder), what's that in pesetas?!

I am in the US and am delighted I don't have to watch on my laptop for a change!!! It is on Setenta Sports here 12.05 EST.

Elsewehere look up http://www.atdhe.net/ which is an awesome website. It lists a bunch of American TV shows at the top but underneath are all the live sporting events being shown live at that time. I watched the season opener against Coventry on Fox Sports Australia!!!!

Hope you enjoy?

Go to bet365.com and register for an account. You do not have to fill in the credit card details page. Then click on live streaming and look for the game. Very good quality and virus free.
