Sunderland Duo Staying Put
Sunderland Duo Staying Put
Wednesday, 23rd Sep 2009 16:54

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce says that strikers Daryl Murphy and David Healy will not be allowed to leave the Black Cats in the foreseeable future. Murphy is a long-time target of Town, while Healy has been linked with the Blues on a number of occasions this summer.

Bruce says his squad has been hit by injuries and he needs the duo to remain on Wearside as cover: "We haven't got a lot of players to choose from right now.

"So David Healy is staying at Sunderland, so is Daryl Murphy for the next two or three months at least because the numbers we have to call on is small, in that respect.

"I took a decision - I wouldn't call it a gamble - that the money we were offered for some of our squad players was too good to turn down. But, as things stand now, we really can't let any more go."

Good. Healy is a spent force and Murphy had his chance. If he can't be arsed to join us, I can't be arsed to want him.

Dirtymagee, What about Leadbitter,Rosseinor,Edwards,Martin,Priskin,Delaney,Colback,Healy,Bruce(was leaving until Keano asked him to stay)
Nearly a whole team have joined and I have faith that Mr Evans will also be delivering on the loan front.
Keep the faith, get behind the team.

Does that mean we won't have our once per week 'story' about Murphy joining us? I for one believe we need this story. It was confirmation that I was on an Ipswich site, as I have no idea who these other players are that we signed.

Is Bramble back?

Dirtymagee - what are you on about, it's Steve Bruce saying they're not going anywhere. Did you actually read the article?
