Taylor Was Working With Players - Report
Friday, 30th Oct 2009 07:48

Former England U21s boss Peter Taylor had already been working with Town’s players for two days before yesterday’s announcement that he would not be joining the coaching staff, according to a report this morning.

Taylor is said to be angry after Roy Keane decided against his appointment at the 11th hour, reportedly telling him he had changed his mind "after he had thought about it".

Yesterday Town issued a statement confirming talks had taken place with the veteran coach but ruling out him joining the club.

Keane is now said to be looking for another experienced coach to join his backroom staff.

Meanwhile, full-back David Wright admits the players are embarrassed by the current winless situation: “We feel embarrassed.

“Last weekend we were just leaving our hotel and about to go for a walk when some people said ‘come on lads — are you going to get that first win?’

“Grant Leadbitter looked at me and said, ‘this is embarrassing’. I totally agree, but all I can say is that we’re improving and progressing and I feel that when one win comes we’ll go on a run.

“No one in the dressing room has been in this position before. It’s new to all of us, but we haven’t lost our self-belief or confidence.”

Theres more to come on this me thinks, I'm puzzled on how one min he was joining then he's not wanted anymore. RK's either decided he's not up to it or he see's him as a threat to him personnally. Look at the scenario, PT joins, Ipswich start to win, who was that down too RK or PT???

Cue endless speculation by people who know nothing about what actually happened with regard to Peter Taylor.....

There is little point speculating. Wright has denied the players even saw Peter Taylor. Obviously something went on - but I suspect we will never know what.

It's terrible the way that this site prints this wanton speculation and get all our hopes up, well at least mine, that we will actually get a real proper time served experienced all inclusive approachable manager. No idea what Phils up to messing with my heart rate on a Friday morning as I settle into my third cup of decaf. Oh what joy tomorrow will bring.

Come on you blues 3-1 to Town

The situation is becoming more and more embarrassing by the day..I think there'll be a massive weight lifted off this club when Keane eventually leaves..for the last few weeks i've felt like i'm just waiting for him to go so we can all get on with the season..Marcus Evans & Clegg need to start waking up to this problem NOW - not next week or next month...it just isn't working - fact.

players need to have a trial so why shouldn't protential coaches go through the same process, we will never know the truth behind it.

My mums hairdressers nephews schoolmates godfathers window cleaner said that Curbishley was seen having some dinner at the new KFC on the Martlesham roundabout. Apparently him and the wife shared a bucket. Curbs had a coke, his wife went diet. Peter Taylor, was not there.

Word from my sources is that Curbs' wife had some tissues in her handbag for post meal cleaning of the digits. He tried to lick his fingers but got cuffed round the ear from the wife. The Curbs family, like his football teams, are a well prepared and disciplined unit.
