Carlisle Reveal Town Approach
Carlisle Reveal Town Approach

Carlisle United boss Greg Abbott has revealed that Town have made a loan enquiry regarding an unnamed member of their squad. Yesterday, Blues boss Roy Keane revealed that he is targeting two players before Thursday’s loan deadline.

Abbott said: "There has been a question asked about one of our players, and we are aware of the speculation, but we are very much focused on what is a tough run of fixtures at this moment in time."

The Carlisle squad contains no obvious striker target - although Vincent Pericard has previously played in the Premier League with Portsmouth and in the Championship with various clubs — but does include central midfielder Graham Kavanagh and full-back Ian Harte, both of whom were in Roy Keane’s Sunderland squad.

Keane has brought a lot of quality to the side when buying the ex Sunderland players... but this is strange.

Keane chasing two....and probably signing none. He should have brought in a £3-4m striker in August, too late now.

Ian Harte - left back. My money is on him. Wasn't there talk of him in the summer? Or was that the summer before?

pickles ....yes agree !

some of the names can't be better than what we have , thought the defence was more settled now..........it's a goalscorer we need to get out of this mess , if we don't get one , RK's head is on the block

I think George Burley was trying to sign Ian Harte around 1999, then everyone went off the idea of him coming to Portman Road a couple of years later when he clattered Marcus Stewart. But didn't Sideways Jim revive the aspiration a couple of years ago?
