QPR Suspend Magilton
QPR Suspend Magilton
Wednesday, 9th Dec 2009 12:11

Former Town boss Jim Magilton has been suspended by QPR pending an investigation into the incident involving midfielder Akos Buzsaky after their defeat to Watford earlier in the week. Magilton is reported to have headbutted the Hungarian.

A QPR statement released this morning said: “The club can confirm that manager Jim Magilton has been suspended with immediate effect, pending an internal investigation.

“The suspension relates to an incident which occurred at Monday's Championship fixture against Watford at Vicarage Road.”

Magilton joined the R’s in the summer having been sacked by the Blues in April. The Northern Irishman, assisted by John Gorman as he was in his latter days at Portman Road, has taken the London club to 12th in the Championship table.

Brilliant. All these fans that talk about Keane being someone who goes mental, boils over etc and Magilton has been suspended for an alleged headbutt on one of his own players!

Bring on the boo boys with all their: "Yeah well Keane will do it too etc!

What a shame, great player for us but very fortuntae to be a manager. Simply not good enough. I wish him well and he will probably be a good manager for the Northern Ireland team. On the plus side if he does lose his job, he won't be back to haunt us on the 28th.

Great headline - is that by rope?

Nothing like guilty until proven innocent!

Pity the FA didn't use the same justice regarding their notorious Italian owner.

I think they are looking for any excuse to get rid of him now that the fans are starting to turn against him (you don't know what you're doing? was loud and clear on the tv).

Agree with the above - haven't seen Keane suspended for headbutting any of our players!!!

I always thought that lump on his forehead was a lobotomy scare, perhaps it was from too many Glasgow kisses!

I ws surprised when he went to QPR, as it is obvious that he sturggles under pressure (I think he did a good job here until Evans' money came along). He should have gone to a smaller club and built up a reputation there.

He's given them the chance to sack him, which is a shame because I think he's done well there. His loans have worked, that may have been John Gorman (as when ringing Harry about Gio). If their supporters have turned on him, that's terrible, it's not that long ago they were winning well away I saw them on TV one Saturday evening. Why have we bought so badly, that is killing our club, no need to splash on permanent players, it doesn't make sense, just get loans. The money we have wasted will come back to haunt us. 11 more wins needed to stay up, with every home game the atmosphere of a deflated balloon at the moment. Had to get that off my chest, it's SOOOOOOOOO frustrating to see our club being gradually destroyed. Business plan, permanent/loan balance of players, all in awe of Roy Keane, Clegg is it his name, not a football man, naah, persuade me to go to Blackpool on 2 Jan (beloved FA Cup, I'm dreaming) and see my 'local' away game 5 miles away at Peterborough in Feb, there's nothing to look forward to. Let's get James Beattie to come in maybe headbutt from Roy Keane and give the chance to sack him without compensating his contract, but who would want Jim Magilton back? Not me, same old same old. I don't think we can be rescued, could we get Lee Clark with Jordan Rhodes. What you need to win home games is quality players, just find us some quickly, at least 6 or 7 of those 11 wins still needed to avoid the drop will probably need to come at Portman Road.

BYRNE 16 Some people are still licking Jims bottom on here actually believing he's a good manager. All they are doing tho is comparing him to Keano's current plight. Bit like comparing Messi to Priskin in a way!

If it's true, then I think it's a shame.

I still wish him well and thank him for some magic moments at PR.

Nice to see that Jim's still held in such high affection by SOME Town fans. Perhaps we should wait and see what the outcome is before we judge. It might have escaped some people's attention but he seems to have been doing a very decent job until fairly recently (not that I'm blaming Jim for the recent results - team game and all that!). It may interest some of you also that many fans who wanted Jim to stay actually want the same for Roy too. It's called backing your manager!! Good luck Jim, hope things work out well except on the 28th and the return.

Doesnt seem like Jim has a problem of being too matey matey with the QPR players then !!
Some fans do make me laugh slating Jim though ,he did a job for us when no one else wanted it and his team is ten points and many positions above ours presently ,so thankyou Jim and good luck
