As the noughties come to a close, we thought it was time for TWTD users to name their Town Player of the Decade.

Which player contributed most to the club in the years 2000-2009? Add your nomination in the Comments section below saying why you feel they are worthy of the award and we'll subsequently run a poll on the site involving the most popular candidates.

Marcus Stewart, by a country mile.

Darren Bent comes a distant second.

PABLO COUNAGO

He may be out-of-favour at the moment - and possibly out of Portman Road in the New Year - but at his best he's a skilful, exciting player always likely to do the unpredictable and turn a game. Inconsistent perhaps, but capable of scoring some wonderful goals (Portsmouth at home, Bristol City at home, Charlton away, QPR away, to name but four).

If it can't be Holland because he traversed the 90s and the 00s then no one really sticks out. To nominate a loan player who played about 6 games last season is laughable. How about magilton? He carried on as the fulcrum of the midfield for a number of years after the other premiership stars left. Otherwise Darren Bent

kuqi is a good call, but nothing can touch the achievements of marcus stewart. i also miss hermann and credit to fabian for his service so 2nd and 3rd in my book

Jason De Vos is the clear option for me, i wish we still had that man in our team. what a fantastic professional and player, never lost a header. Marcus stewart done amazing things at the club and took us to the play off finals with his performances against bolton, genius with a ball at his feet.

In terms of contribution, are we not forgetting a certain J.Magilton? This is him as a player, not as manager and without him Stewart would never have shone in the premiership in the first place. Has to be Super Jim

I'm guessing the posters that have mentioned Gio didn't read the question properly...

"Which player contributed most to the club in the years 2000-2009?"

Can't be anyone other than Fabian Wilnis?

Do we detect a slight warming to the exploits of Mr Magilton? Are we casting a retrospective glance backwards and realising that perhaps his achievements weren't so bas after all?

Fab.As he played in every season, was a model of consistancy and is a genuinely nice bloke.

Not forgetting of course that he is indeed a blue and he hates Norwich.

Bam Bam - got us promoted in the play off final and has been a rock.

How can no one have mentioned such a loyal servant to the club???!!!!!!!!

Also, Stewart and Magic in 2nd and 3rd.

Holland was in the 90s really.
