Foley Set for Reserves Role
Foley Set for Reserves Role
Sunday, 17th Jan 2010 09:44

TWTD understands that Steve Foley is set to run Town’s reserves, Bryan Klug, who previously coached the second string, having left the club last week. Foley has been with the Blues since being appointed specialist skills coach by Jim Magilton in 2006.

Foley didn't take his usual place on the bench during the Blues' 3-2 victory over Coventry on Saturday having switched from first team duties.

Klug took over as reserves coach last summer with Chris Kiwomya taking control of the U18s.

Meanwhile, Portsmouth are the latest club to be linked with a move for ex-Town loanee Giovani Dos Santos. Pompey are said to want to take the Mexican on loan once their transfer embargo has been lifted.

Earlier in the week, Turkish side Galatasaray, who are managed by Dos Santos’s old Barcelona manager Frank Rijkaard, were again linked with the Tottenham man.

Town boss Roy Keane recently said that Dos Santos returning to Portman Road was highly unlikely.

Elsewhere, former Town goalkeeper-coach Andy Rhodes has joined Peterborough United in the same role having left Preston North End in the wake of Alan Irvine’s Deepdale exit.

ally - I agree. I don't think Foley has excelled at PR. Doubt he will last the rest of the season.

Gio a brilliant talented flair player but no way would Keane want to get him. Why? ‘cos he doesn't give a 100% in training sessions. Far more important in our flawed Manager's eyes.

good theroy bluetone, but the training ground is where pros put in the shift. if you go the extra mile in training you have the edge when it comes to compation. kurt angle won olymmpic gold becasue of it, so too micheal phealps. it was probably demanded of him at old trafford and his man u side where one of the most succesfull in thier day. and bergolt blur consider this. galataaray (although being quite a high profile club) play in a realtivly low profile league, id wager most ccc teams could give the mid table turkish prem teams a good run out. portsmouth, although in the prem are a crisis club who could be well on their way to "doing a leeds and forrest" at ipswich he knows the club, likes the fans its a good stadium to play football in and a nice pitch to play it on, i think finances are the problem on this deal
